Zhuhai, Macau's neighbor, aims to diversify its tourism industry and promote the city's brand image through the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area initiative.

The 5th Macau International Travel (Industry) Expo was held from 7 to 9 July, 2017. During the expo, Zhuhai exhibitors at the "Travel+" exhibition promoted its image as a romantic tourist destination with key touristattractionsincluding islands, coastlines, theme parks and hot springs.

The city's tourist administration and tourism development center delivered promotional presentations on Zhuhai's tourism during the expo and invited Malaysian and Indonesian delegations to visit the city in cooperation with Macau's tourist office.

Under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Greater Bay Area push, the two neighboring territories have established cooperation and communication mechanisms allowing an integrated development in the tourism industry to be achieved.

Macau is renowned for its gambling and entertainment industry while leisure tourism is been well-developed in Zhuhai. Through the mutually beneficial plan, both cities' tourism could be boosted: a traveler can experience two unique city atmospheres in just one journey.

"The cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao benefits all of us," said Wang Lingping, the Director of the Zhuhai Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau. With the foundations of the Greater Bay Area, the integrative development of Zhuhai and Macao will enter a new stage of in-depth development.

During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Zhuhai is not only making significant progress in its own tourism industries, but also supporting the efforts of Nujiang of Yunnan province.
